What's New?

  • Dear Stratford Road Families,
At Stratford Road, we strive to help our students be the best they can be through our academic programs and character education lessons.  We work in our classroom communities, as a larger school community, and always look for ways we can connect and support our Plainview-Old Bethpage community.  Last year, our dedicated staff and fantastic PTA worked in conjunction to support Birthday Wishes, an organization that provides birthday parties to homeless children throughout Long Island, as well as in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
This year will be our third Birthday Wishes event.  We will once again work as a school community to support this cause, culminating with an evening event on April 20.  Please save the date!
We can't wait to get to work with our students to reinforce the ideas of kindness, giving, and the power of helping others by “bringing the magic of a birthday party” to so many children.  We are currently accepting donations of the following items for making birthday decorations and party boxes:
    • birthday wrapping paper
    • markers/crayons
    • goody bag items (in sets of 8)
    • any stickers that are appropriate for creating birthday decorations; stickers can be left over from other events, sticker books, craft projects you may have done at home, etc.
There are boxes in our lobby where the students can drop off their donations.  You will receive additional information from your classroom teachers and parent representatives about how your child's class is getting involved as we get closer to our April 20 evening.
As always, we thank you for your continued generosity and support.  We are a strong Stratford Road community and are proud to show our students how they can make a difference, help other children, and connect with our community at large
    Sincerely,
    The Birthday Wishes Committee
