Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School Eighth Graders Ease Transition and Welcome Incoming 5th Grade Students
Eighth grade students at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School recently volunteered as Middle School Advisory Program (MAP) Leaders to hold an orientation for incoming 5th grade students. MAP Leaders greeted the new students and helped them become familiar with the building, staff, and fellow students. The MAP leaders are role models and friendly faces for the new students who may need help during their first days of middle school.
MAP is a program that provides students with an opportunity to develop relationships and learn from one another’s experiences at different grade levels. MAP activities vary and will engage students in self-reflection, group discussion, and organizational tasks.
